Janet and Jeffrey Beck Lower SchoolThe Janet and Jeffrey Beck Lower School provides a challenging curriculum designed to fit students' individual needs and capabilities. Through integrated teaching, students learn language arts, social studies, science, and math, as well as Jewish studies that integrates Hebrew language and lessons in Torah. The school's nurturing approach encourages individual growth, community service, leadership opportunities, and an understanding of the impact of one's words and actions on others. Specialist teachers offer instruction on computers, art, library, music, and physical education, while enrichment and remediation are offered to meet individual students' needs. Differentiated instruction begins during the lower school years as learning specialists, counselors and classroom teachers work toward developing individual learning plans. Students are stretched meet their maximum potential in academics, the arts, and as individuals. Emphasis is placed on social responsibility within the school community and the community at large.
